New Scheme for Obtaining World Series Tix: Crowdfunding
Game six of the World Series rapidly approaches. Standing Room Tickets start at $800. A bleacher seat is more like $2,000. Box seats require dipping into the kids’ meager college fund.
But if Al Underwood, aka “America’s Musketeer,” can use crowdfunding to raise more than $2,000 for his cinderella-story bid at the World Beard and Mustache Championships in Stuttgart, Germany, no doubt I can raise about double that to take my 8 year old son with me to Fenway for what just might be the clinching game.
(Question: Is it bad form to crowdfund concessions? My boy will want some cotton candy, and I could use a couple two-three beers to calm my frayed nerves during the scintillating action.)
