Longboard Me, Marge
I’ve decided to take more journeys via skateboard. I don’t have a longboard yet, but I bet someone buys me one for a milestone birthday, like 60, or maybe a few years later for retirement.
Learning to ride a skateboard in middle-late-midlife is one of those no-brainers that more people would do if they just thought about it for half a second and had maybe a gram of guts. What are you worried about, falling and breaking a hip then spending the rest of your days nursing this injury? What’s the likelihood of that?!
My new friends at Arbor, a snowboard and skate shop in Venice Beach, CA, tell me that longboards are easy to use. They’re stable and you stop it with your foot. Sounds easy enough.
This is the model that I think would be good for me to start on. I’ll let you know what hospital I’m staying at in case you’d like to visit.
